What happens in a Play Therapy activity group?

Group are structured, with a predictable and reliable routine to help the children feel safe, prepared and in control.

Play Therapy activity groups are suitable for children aged between 4 and 11 years old. Group sizes are small, generally each group will contain 4 to 6 children to allow each child plenty of time to talk and take part in the activities. Each group lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

Typical group routines involve a starter activity, feelings "check in", focus activity and a relaxation to end the session.
