About Emily

Emily is a qualified Play Therapist working in Suffolk and East Essex. Emily has been working with children since 2015, after achieving a BSc Psychology Degree (First with Honours). She began her career as a Pastoral Support Worker in a local primary school, supporting the emotional needs and wellbeing of students. In 2016, Emily began her journey into Play Therapy by studying a PTUK accredited Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills, before travelling to France to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy.

Emily is a member of PTUK, has an up-to-date DBS certificate and Professional Indemnity Insurance. She also regularly attends supervision sessions. Emily is also registered with the Professional Standards Authority.
Emily is extremely passionate about the emotional wellbeing of others and enjoys researching new ways to support children through trauma, life changes or day-to-day struggles. Her essay on the benefits of sensory play in Play Therapy was chosen to be published in "Play For Life", a journal produced by PTUK for all members and trainees.

Emily is a patient, accepting and non-judgemental person who works within PTUK's ethical framework and follows Axline's principles.
Emily values the importance of a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, which is why she offers a free initial meeting with parents to allow them to decide whether she is the right therapist for their child.
